...it's not dark yet, but it's gettin' there...

Wednesday Is Poetry Day

Three poems by Randy Jackson, via Popwatch:

Yo, yo

Yo, yo.
Yo, yo.
Amazing, amazing.
Loved the jacket.
Loved you.
Amazing.

Yo, baby, Elliott

Yo, baby, Elliott
So check it out, dawg
Elliott
So check it out, man
I hated
Check it out
Did not like the arrangement

Feel the angst in this next one:

Yo, Taylor, man

Yo, Taylor, man
I don't know what's goin' on, man
I don't know if it's me tonight or whatever
But dude, that was completely the wrong song
For me
For you
I didn't get it
It wasn't half as good as the original
It felt like weird karaoke to me
I don't know what's happenin' here
I don't know what's goin' on here

Plus a bonus poem by Paula Abdul:

Even Paris Bennett Gets the Blues

I felt like it was kind of a struggle
For you to find that place
Where you own the stage
Like you always do
Week after week

Beautiful.

Dawg! The tub
is too hawt!
Turn it down!
Before my brain melts.
Too late.

The lights turn on;
From the west, harsh critic's wind:
So check it out, dawg.

Hey!
Though I'm not a big fan of irrelevant comment postings, I just wanted to remind you that International Weblogger's Day is coming up on June 14th! Be sure to spread the word.

Thanks once again,
Rio

The Abdul one is oddly compelling...

Barbarians, the lot of 'em. I like the creativity though, nice job folks! Clap it out now...

Screw it. Bring back the pumpkin.

At least he speaks English.

Speaking of pumpkins, here's a little treat from NRO's John Derbyshire, which I'm apparently obliged to post here at Annika's site every year or so:

A certain young hillbilly bumpkin

Was caught having sex with a pumpkin.

When arrested he swore:

"What's all this fuss for?

Where I'm from, it's okay to hump kin!"

Let's just consider this episode 34. Posted by: Cameron on May. 18, 2006
